Torah for Trots

1. In the beginning Lenin created the party.

2 Now the party was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the Tzarist Russia, and the Spirit of Marx was hovering over the Winter Palace.

3 And Lenin said, “Let there be a party” and there was a party.

4 Lenin saw that the party was good, and he separated the majority from the minority.

5 Lenin called the majority “Bolsheviks,” and the minority he called “Mensheviks”. And there was a minority and majority—the Second Congress.

6 And Lenin said, “a member of the Russian Social-Democratic Labour Party is one who accepts the Party’s programme, supports the Party financially, and renders it regular personal assistance under the direction of one of its organisations” And it was so.

7. And Lenin made the statute, and divided the members which were under the influence of Martov from the member which were above the petit-bourgeois Menshevism of his political direction: and it was so.

8 Lenin called the Mensheviks “liquidationists” And there was evening, and there was morning—the 1912 Party congress.

9 And Lenin said, “liquidationism is the spreading of bourgeois influence among the proletariat.” And it was so.

10 Lenin called the liquidationists “bourgeois liberals,” and the slogans he called those of “counter-revolutionary liberals.” And Lenin was pleased with what he saw.

11 Then Lenin said, “There is no bread. Famine is again drawing near…the workers expect liberty, peace, bread and land” And it was so.

12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And Lenin saw that it was good.

13 And there was evening, and there was morning— the Treaty of Creation of the USSR and the Declaration of the Creation of the USSR, forming the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

14 And Lenin said, “Communism is Soviet power plus the electrification” And it was so.

15 Lenin made two great lights—the greater light to enable him to modernise industry and guarantee the lesser light to raise the level of culture in the countryside and overcome backwardness, ignorance, poverty, disease, and barbarism. He also made the stars.

16 Lenin set them in the vault of the sky to give electrification to Soviet Russia,

17 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And use those volts for electrification. And Lenin saw that it was good.

18 And there was evening, and there was morning—the State Commission for Electrification of Russia established at the Presidium of the VSNKh.

  1. In all the above, note that Trotsky is nowhere to be seen or heard. When Lenin started the Bolshevik faction on the ideological basis of his famous thesis “What is to be done”, among the first people to join him was Stalin (then called Djugashvili), a leading member of the social-democratic party section in the Baku area. Trotsky refused to join the Bolsheviks then. Trotsky wanted proletarian purity, not mixing prols and peasantry as the Bolsheviks proposed, qute rightly too, given Tsarist Russia was peasant in majority. It was only in mid-1917, with the Soviet Revolution about 6 months away, that the great leader Lev Davidovitch daigned to adorn the RSDWP (Bolshevik) which generously coopted him into the central committee, despite Trotsky’s systematic theoretical and political mistakes from the early 1900s on. No wonder T is unloved in most parts of the world. So, Trotskos, time to switch off your now nearly a century-long fable about “old” (thus somehow authentic) bolsheviks rotating aroung their hero in the heavens of the socialist wonderland.

  2. Amazing how russians adrmie a man who caused wanton destruction and miseries to Russians for 70 years! It seems to me that the more you subjegate Russians, the more they love you? Are Russians submissive people who cant live dictator and autocratic ruler?
