Susie Shikse

I'm 15 and I live in Finchley with my cat, dog, little sister who is a pain in the arse, and my parents who know nothing about anything and are really soooooo out-of-touch with reality. My mum's an RE teacher, so she really should know better. Im mean, she hangs around with people all day but doesn't take any interest in the people living on her doorstep, or make any effort to understand ANYTHING I'm interested in... Music, fashion, drawing, sport, my friends, she thinks they're all a waste of time and a distraction from my schoolwork. My dad's a Conservative councillor, so you can imagine how boring and useless he is! My best friend is Lucy. Really, I don't know what I'd do without her. At least SHE understands me, unlike my family. Lucy's mum is really cool too, she has dreadlocks and lets the cats sit on the sofa and she makes sandwiches and goes round on her bike giving them to homeless people. Mum and Dad don't like her, surprise, surprise. They think Lucy's a bad influence and Dad says people like her are a drain on the taxpayers' resources because her mum's on the dole. Lucy likes English, science and maths and goes to Chess Club. It's funny, I'm sure if Lucy and me swapped lives, my parents would think she was the perfect daughter. At school I like art and PE. I go to Netball and sometimes go ice skating with Lucy and Rebecca.
